I was a bit bored, and decided to do some photo retouching. Its been a while since I had the chance to do something like that anyway. What you see is the result.

Was a little bored, and thought I would explore an idea I’ve had for a while, which is taking a picture of a figurine into photoshop, and see what could be done with it. This is how my little experiment turned out:

I might end up doing a little tutorial on it, as the techniques required arent that hard.
To get an idea where it started, take a look at this:

You can check out the original model and pictures over at DC Here.
With that said, I’m sorry I havent updated a lot lately. Been having exams at my school (aced my Design Theory exam, so I might eventually bother writing that up in english and sharing), calming down after returning to Denmark, keeping in touch with my japanese girlfriend, and so on. I promise things will start going up in the near future!
Ok, so I admit it… I had absolutely no idea what I should call the image! So I went with what was on it… fractals, and listening to music.
Not sure I like how it turned out… its not bad, but I dont feel its particularly spiffy either. Maybe thats just me though, who knows.
As with everything else, its on my RedBubble site if your interested in a high quality print!
Original model pictures and more can be found here.

I just finished up a CD cover for my good friend Jesse Pritchard’s upcoming cd, and I thought I would share it with you all.

Be sure to check out Jesse’s site over at Stillbliss Studios and keep an eye out for his coming album!
Yep. thats right, ‘Meditation’ now avaliable as a (slightly modified) wallpaper! Its currently in a 1600*1200 resolution, but since its black on all edges, it shouldn’t be a problem on smaller or different resolutions, as long as the background is black.
I hope you enjoy it!
And remember, ‘Meditation’ is avaliable as posters, postcards and more over at my RedBubble shop!

I can really recommend getting this as a poster over at RedBubble, as I think the details just turned out wonderful. For a small preview of the full-resolution version, check this out!
I really like how the image ended up turning out. Originally I had completely different plans, and many times during the making I felt like dropping it as it just wasn’t going anywhere… or perhaps just not going where I thought I wanted to go. Nonetheless, after staring at it for around 7 hours, this is how it ended up looking, and I think thats just wonderful.
I already got a tutorial in the works for this (but like the Sichuan tutorial, its more of a “walkthrough” then a detailed description of every part, since doing a detailed version would take way to much time, and I’m cramming exams at the moment), so just look forward to that! Hopefully its going to be up within the next few days!

Firstly, I’m happy to say that the MentalMirage flickr Pool is already getting new images brought to it, so be sure to check it out and contribute!
Secondly, this here is the images for my new business card, that I made ready for my trip to Tokyo. I think it turned out quite nicely, and I’m happy with it, and now looking forward to getting the prints shipped to me, hopefully within the next 10 days or so.
Thirdly, since I quite liked how the front of my card turned out, I’m offering it as a card print over at my redbubble site, so be sure to check it out and buy one!
Now, without further waiting, here is the front and back it:

I’m planning on making a tutorial (short or long, time will tell) on how I made the front image. I’m not sure exactly when I’ll have time for this, so we’ll see. But its coming!

So I felt creative, and wanted to do something, and this is what happened to come out of it. A good 5 hours work or so, I suppose.
I really wanted to work some some colors, and get something dynamic going, I think it ended up looking pretty good! Click for a higher res.
The original image can be found on istockphoto.com, where many other great shots are!
I actually use the site for a great deal of inspiration… just browsing through pictures until something jumps out and speaks to me, and I go “Wow! I could totally do something cool with this!”. Well, if it ended up cool or not is up for you to decide!
A recent school project was to make a poster based on the Sichuan Earthquake 2008. The below picture is my result of that:

It turned out quite well I think! I got quite a bit of praise from teachers and students alike, far more than expected actually.
Because of that I’m currently trying to find out who holds copyright on the original picture of the ruins used, in the hopes of being able to sell it as a poster, with all profit going to the earthquake victims! We’ll have to wait and see how things turn out, but it could be interesting.
